In short
A set of development-related master’s courses in Germany, each with its own DAAD scholarship. There is no single DAAD form and no single closing date. You apply to the course.
The list is built around public health, engineering, water, energy, agriculture and related fields. It is not a clinical-medicine list and it is not a law list. If your subject is not on the current EPOS course list, this award does not cover it.
Who can apply
- You are a graduate from a developing country. Sierra Leone is in that group.
- You have a first degree of a standard the course will accept.
- You have at least two years of relevant work after that degree. The programme is meant for people already working in the field, not for a student going straight on.
Papers they ask for
- Whatever that course’s own DAAD checklist says. It usually includes degree certificates, transcripts, a letter of motivation, references, and proof of work.
- A language-test result if the course asks for one. Many courses are taught in English. Some want German, or both. The course page is the only reliable list.
What it pays
- A monthly payment for living costs
- Health insurance
- A travel allowance
- Tuition, where the course charges it
How to apply
- Open the EPOS course list for 2027/28 and shortlist only courses that match your degree and your job.
- Read each course’s deadline. They are not the same, and many 2027/28 dates fall between August 2026 and early 2027. Some will already have closed.
- Send a complete application to each course you choose, through the route that course names. The DAAD information page does not receive the file.
Read this before you file
- Do not invent a monthly figure from an older DAAD table. The course page for this intake states the rate, the health insurance and the travel allowance.
- A course can leave the list. If it is not on the current EPOS list, a scholarship from this programme is not attached to it.
- Work experience has to be relevant and after the first degree. A campus internship during the degree does not usually count.
Checked against the provider’s page on 11 October 2026. If this note and that page disagree, the provider is right. Lanbuk does not award this scholarship.
