In short

The University of Edinburgh’s Mastercard Foundation scholarship for postgraduate study in 2027/28, on campus or online. This round was built around a mandatory information session in September. If you did not attend, do not assume the form will accept you.

Edinburgh teaches law, medicine, public health and engineering, but this scholarship is only for the programmes the scholars office lists for the round. Open that list. A course Edinburgh offers is not automatically a course the scholarship funds.

Who can apply

  • You meet the eligibility the information sessions set out. Those sessions ran from 15 to 24 September 2026 and the page calls them mandatory.
  • You were then invited to apply from 13 October 2026.
  • You can complete an Applicant Declaration Form and, after that, the postgraduate assessment and the scholarship form.

How to apply

  1. If you attended a September session and were told you could apply, open the application from 13 October 2026.
  2. Send the Applicant Declaration Form by 5pm UK time on 19 October 2026. The university says the form can close earlier once it is full. Do not leave it until the evening of the 19th.
  3. Send the main application by 5pm UK time on 19 November 2026.

Read this before you file

  • Missed the September sessions? The page required them. Treat this round as closed to you unless Edinburgh says otherwise in writing.
  • The Edinburgh timeline page does not print a figure for tuition or stipend. Do not budget from another university’s Mastercard package. Read Edinburgh’s own scholars pages.
  • Online and on-campus study are both mentioned. The mode changes what the award needs to cover. Check which one you are actually offered.
