The long title says the Act was passed to make provision for the continuance of the existence of the Audit Service as an autonomous body with authority to ensure greater accountability in the receipt, disbursement and control of public funds, to promote greater efficiency and effectiveness in the use of public funds and to provide for other related matters.
Repeals the Audit Service Act, 1998.
