Copy Right Act, 2011
An Act providing for the protection of copyright and related rights in Sierra Leone.
Summary
The Copyright Act, 2011 provides for the protection of copyright and related (neighbouring) rights in Sierra Leone. It protects original literary, artistic, musical and other works, as well as performances, sound recordings and broadcasts.
The Act defines the works and subject-matter protected, the economic and moral rights of authors and other right-holders, the duration of protection, and permitted exceptions. It provides for the assignment and licensing of rights, for collective administration of rights, and for remedies — civil and criminal — against infringement and piracy.
